Titus (Persian Kingdom)
Tired, after a long, rather directionless and hot day we found ourselves sitting in one of the Vakil Bazaar square’s just after 10pm with our backpacks clearly visible to the multitude of people that came to enjoy some family getaway time. The unspoken truth was evident, we had no place to sleep and we made this rather obvious, hoping in this way to be found by a person of peace that we can share with.
While the three of us pondered on how our own “needs” could be met, a young guy sitting alone not far from us caught my attention. I walked over and was glad to find that his English was good enough for a proper conversation. He goes by the name “Titus”.

We started talking about his work and family and then the country. Like most of the people we met, Titus is seeking freedom and is fed up with the religious rules of the country. I decided it would be relevant for me to play a song from Bethel music, “Freedom”, because I was busy listening to it before I walked over.
He was moved by this freedom expressed through this song. I asked him does he know Jesus/Isa or Bible/Ingil, and at first he didn’t know what I was talking about. I started to explain the true freedom on the inside that comes with knowing Jesus. I didn’t explain much before I opened my Bible on my phone which he immediately recognized since he had downloaded it two months ago.
Then I knew Father has already started to work in Titus. When I asked him why he downloaded the Bible he said that he is doing a lot of research because he is not satisfied with the religion that he follows and seeks the real truth. When I asked him what he thinks about the Bible he said “I want to become a Christian but in this country it is not allowed.
At this point I was getting excited and began telling him of the underground congregation movement in the country and I started speaking about how the people that followed Jesus are so free even when they are in prison and martyred, because they knew the truth and live with a purpose. On this note I encouraged Titus to read the Bible in the morning when he wakes up and ask God to show him the truth.
The following day I receive these two voice notes:
